Marvin Cortes is opening up about his sexuality and living his most authentic life.

Earlier this month, the 28-year-old model and content creator took to social media to share with his fans and followers that he is publicly coming out as bisexual.

“I want to let you know that I’m coming out as openly bisexual. I’ve been in love with both men and women,” Cortes said in a heartfelt, 11-minute coming-out video he posted to Instagram TV in early August. “I’ve been proud to be a part of the gay community in my personal life, and I just want to share it now publicly online.”

He continued:

“I’ve never been happier, and I look forward to living more of an authentic life and sharing that with you.”

“This is who I am, and who I want to be,” he wrote in the caption of his video. “I love you all, and am proud to be part of this community.”

Most notable for competing in Tyra Banks’ wildly popular reality modeling competition America’s Next Top Model, Cortes placed second on 20th cycle of the show, which ran on The CW back in 2013. He made series history as the first male contestant to place as the runner-up and went on to publish his own book, Don’t Waste Your Looks on Likes.

And he isn’t the only ANTM alum who came out this year!

Model-turned-actor Lio Tipton opened up about their sexuality and gender identity and came out as queer and nonbinary in a moving Instagram picture back in June for Pride Month.

Tipton (who finished third in Cycle 11 of ANTM and who co-starred alongside Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the 2011 romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love) shared that their pronouns are now they/them, and that they proudly identify as a queer, nonbinary member of the LGBTQ+ community.

You’re in good company, Marvin! Congrats, and welcome to the family!

Fun Fact: A study published in 2019 titled “Disintermediating your friends: How online dating in the United States displaces other ways of meeting” found that 65% of gay couples met through dating apps. That doesn’t mean it’s always a good experience, though! This is why we highly recommend premier dating sites like Gay Dating Solutions and My Gay Match.

My Gay Match is a new gay dating site that focuses on matching gay men not only on demographic information but a unique personality measure developed by a psychologist. All members are personally confirmed and carefully screened by their staff to prove that they are real. If you’re looking to find a warm and meaningful connection with interesting and caring singles this is the site for you. The gay dating website is currently offering a free 30-day trial.
